Toronto Rugby & Athletic Association protested their loss to Ottawa St. Patricks, claiming that Ottawa had used a player named Bush, who was actually a professional wrestler, thus violating league rules against the use of professional athletes. The protest was eventually upheld, but ORFU officials ruled the game out of the official record and it was not replayed, leaving Toronto with a record of 2-1 and Ottawa at 0-3. Toronto R&AA was unhappy at not having an opportunity for a replay, since Hamilton Rowing Club were declared ORFU champions with a record of 3-1.

Duncan O'Mahony kicked a 47-yard field goal with 6 seconds remaining in regulation time to tie the game and then kicked a 40-yard FG on the first possession of overtime as the Lions defeated the Roughriders before 55,227 fans at B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver. Saskatchewan had possession of the ball to begin overtime, but Paul McCallum missed an 18-yard field goal attempt, scoring a single point and enabling Mr. O'Mahony's kick to be the winner. Saskatchewan quarterback Henry Burris completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Corey Grant in the 1st quarter and added 2 touchown passes to Elijah Thurmon, including a 5-yard TD pass to give the Roughriders a 27-24 lead after Mr. McCallum's convert. Casey Printers started at quarterback for B.C. and completed a 78-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Thelwell on the second play from scrimmage. Mr. Printers also threw a 7-yard TD pass to Chris Brazzell before leaving in the 4th quarter with a shoulder injury. Dave Dickenson relieved him at quarterback and threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Warren.

Arland Bruce returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter and caught a 7-yard TD pass from Damon Allen as the Argonauts upset the Alouettes before 51,296 fans at Olympic Stadium. Montreal led 10-9 after 3 quarters, but Toronto took the lead on a Noel Prefontaine field goal, and after Mr. Bruce's second touchdown, John Avery rushed 25 yards for a touchdown with 1:49 remaining in regulation time. The Alouettes responded just 31 seconds later on a 1-yard touchdown rush by Eric Lapointe and a 2-point convert pass from Ted White to Dave Stala. Jonas Lewis scored the first Montreal touchdown on a 4-yard rush in the 2nd quarter, which was immediately followed by Mr. Bruce's first TD. The probable turning point in the game occurred on the second play of the 3rd quarter, when Montreal starting quarterback Anthony Calvillo was sacked by Toronto's Eric England and left the game with a shoulder injury. The Toronto defense took advantage of the inexperience of backup quarterback Ted White.
